Build campaign-tagged tracking URLs.
Your tracking URL
Fill in a URL and the required fields…UTM parameters are five tags you append to a link so your analytics can tell where a visit came from. Without them, campaign traffic collapses into "direct" or "referral" and you lose the ability to say which email, post, or ad actually brought someone in.
This builder assembles them in the order analytics tools expect and URL-encodes the values, so spaces and ampersands do not silently break the link. It runs entirely in your browser — nothing you paste here is sent to a server.
utm_source is the only one most analytics tools require, but source, medium, and campaign together are the practical minimum — source tells you where (newsletter), medium tells you how (email), campaign tells you which push (spring-launch). utm_term and utm_content are optional and mostly used for paid search and A/B variants.
Yes. Analytics tools treat Email and email as two separate values, which quietly splits one campaign across multiple rows in your reports. Pick lowercase-with-hyphens and apply it everywhere.
They can. Each tagged URL is a distinct address, so a page can be crawled at several URLs that all show the same content. A self-referencing canonical tag on the destination page tells search engines which version is authoritative and consolidates the ranking signals.
No. Tagging a link between two pages of your own site restarts attribution, so the original source is overwritten and traffic that came from Google starts reporting as your internal campaign. Use them only on links pointing at your site from somewhere else.
